&lt;p&gt;Bay Materials has released a new family of Phase Change Materials (PCM) for use in applications where either energy storage or bond release at a specific controllable  temperature is demanded in the application.  PCM&#039;s are unique materials that have the ability to store and then release large amounts of thermal energy at a specific temperature. In applications related to energy management the material can be used to protect an environment from rapid or extreme temperature transients. Electronic circuit protection is an example of an application.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In applications where bond release is inportant, the material transforms from a structural material with relatively high strength, to a soft ductile material, at a specific temperature. Cooking temperature indication is an example of an existing product application.&lt;/p&gt;
