Debi Dunson

Personnel

Debi Dunson is Staff Scientist at Bay Materials, specializing in the research, development, and analysis of polymers and materials. Debi is responsible for developing tests and conducting analyses of materials to evaluate properties, quality, process capability, and performance. These analytical methods include thermal, rheological, mechanical, and spectroscopic instrumentation.

Since joining Bay Materials, Debi has successfully launched, operated, and maintained the thermal analysis lab, including DMA, DSC, and TMA. She has expertise in designing thermal analysis experiments for evaluating polymer properties, and has extensive experience in analyzing thermoplastic films, semicrystalline polymers, waxes, thermosets, hydrogels, and adhesives.

She also has extensive experience in the development of thermosetting adhesives, polyurethanes, polyimides, poly(amic acid)s, hydrogels, and acrylic resins.

Debi received her Ph.D. in polymer chemistry at Virginia Tech (VT). While at VT, Debi designed and led studies in the areas of polymer synthesis, characterization, and processing, which resulted in several journal publications.
